Select a Category: Suggest a WoD Presenter or Topic
|
In this on-line catalogue, you will find various resources, individuals or groups, who you can contact to schedule a program for your chapter free of charge. WoD allows our chapters to connect with our University and community partners for the purposes of membership development. Whether you want a 30-minute presentation or a 2-hour workshop, work with the various contacts to develop a perfect fit for your unique needs and interests. Be creative and explore the possibilities!
Plan ahead. Don’t ask someone to prepare something at the last minute. A minimum of two weeks between contacting the person and the presentation should be your goal.
Be flexible. Keep in mind their schedules and work to find a time that is convenient for everyone.
Pick an appropriate location. Maximize the value of the presentation by considering the type of environment you want it to take place. Are there audio and visual needs? Do you need space to move around? Will everyone fit?
Use your networking skills. The people listed are real people. Treat them in a personable and professional manner. You’ll never know when you might see them again!
Be gracious. Thank you cards and sincerity go a long way.
Clarify and communicate the goals you hope to fulfill with the presentation so that the presenter understands the direction and purpose you have in mind.
Find the best mode of communication. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone or schedule an appointment so that any planning and explanations can be done most clearly.
Consider collaborating with other chapters or organizations.
Advertise the event well so that your members don’t miss it! Nobody enjoys presenting to an empty room.
And if any of your plans change, inform the presenter as soon as possible!
If your chapter has had a presenter not listed on this site, please complete the form on this site or contact Emily Stuba at estuba@mail.bradley.edu to add them to the list and share this resource with others!
